Marian Mechanics visited Hagley Museum to celebrate Halloween at our new Spark Lab location by engaging with younger STEM enthusiasts by hosting hands-on STEM activities. Our team taught kids about how robots work, demonstrated key robotics concepts, and offered fun crafts that introduced the youngest generation to the spark of engineering and innovation. We also handed out candy and shared information about the FIRST program and excitement about the possibilities of science, technology, and FIRST.
Marian Mechanics attended GameCon Philly, where we showcased our competition robot and shared info about FTC, FLL and the broader FIRST program. Our booth featured robot demonstrations, driving sessions for people who were interested, and informational materials about how students can get involved in robotics. We talked with gamers, families, and tech enthusiasts of all ages, sparking the excitement of gaming and STEM with the hands-on innovation of FIRST. Many were fascinated by the robot’s capabilities and wanted to learn how they could participate in or support local FTC teams.
The Marian Mechanics participated in the Delaware Nature and Science Center’s Ren-Science Fair by hosting a table with fun games and learning opportunities about the Renaissance, along with advertisements and information about the FIRST program. Many children and adults of all ages stopped by to join the activities and learn more about what we had to share.
The Marian Mechanics participated in UD’s annual Community Day by hosting a booth featuring our robot, robot demonstrations, and info materials about the FIRST program. Our team spoke with families, students, and educators of all ages, sparking interest in robotics and the opportunities FIRST offers to students. We also shared details about the Spark Lab and encouraged potential mentors and educators to get involved in supporting future FTC teams and FIRST. Many there were excited to see the robot in action and had interest in learning how they could participate or contribute.
